A Gluten-Free, Stress-Free Stay at The Upper Room Bed and Breakfast

The Upper Room Bed and Breakfast is a beautiful respite for those with Celiac Disease.
Guests have ultimate peace and quiet in this one-room rental, complete with full access to an indoor swimming pool. Each morning a hot breakfast with fresh fruit and juice await you.

And it's ALL gluten-free. Owner Jennifer Gingell doesn't use a speck of regular flour or gluten containing products anywhere in her kitchen. Did I mention there's cake every day? Delicious gluten-free & nut-free cake balls from Heavenly Cakeballs in Metamora accompany every morning meal. I suggest taking a trip to their bakery to try Vonda's gluten-free cupcakes, pies and more.

Offering a gluten-free breakfast isn't just a business trend for the Gingell's - this is personal. Jennifer's daughter Rachel was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in 2013 after struggling with health issues for almost a decade. Her parents realized that to help her heal and remain healthy, a completely gluten-free household was ideal. They removed every gluten containing item and bought brand new cookware. Now the care and concern they showed for their daughter can be passed on to all of their guests. Rachel says that it brings her such joy to assure those with gluten-free dining needs that their stay at The Upper Room can be a stress-free vacation.

There's more to see in Lapeer County than just the bed and breakfast. You can visit Hogsback for a long hike or a horse ride. Visit Metamora-Hadley Recreation Area for hours of swimming, boating, picnicking and fishing. There are plenty of wonderful golf courses in the vicinity for hours of play too.Visit the Pure Michigan site to pick a course! Sitting by the fireside in your room will be a great way to relax after enjoying the out of doors.

A comfortable bed awaits you after adventuring throughout the Michigan thumb. I highly suggest the short drive to Clarkston to enjoy dinner at The Clarkston Union. With a full gluten-free menu that includes pizza, burgers, and macaroni and cheese, you'll want to eat there all the time. Take in a concert at DTE Energy Music Theater (formerly Pine Knob) for a truly memorable trip.

Heading to Lapeer County or the thumb of Michigan soon? I highly suggest giving The Upper Room Bed and Breakfast a call to see if they have room available. Plan your trip in advance, as space books quickly. And please pass along that you read about them on my site!
